Six Skiers Rescued After after snow storm in California, Nine Still Missing
A major snow storm and avalanche causes death of 8 and one is still missing in California's Sierra Nevada range, while six people rescued so far by crew members and transported safely for medical treatment. The conditions are extremely dangerous and hinder the rescue operations in the region. The skiers group was the part of a guided tour, and survived with the help of a makeshift shelter and by contacting through emergency beacons. Dozens of emergency personnel have been deployed to the area, but the conditions are extremely hazardous due to record-breaking snowfall and high winds that have forced the closure of several nearby ski resorts.
